Description:

You will serve as a MATERIALS HANDLER of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR JACKSONVILLE.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISON

An example of the screen out element is: I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks on my own initiative under general supervision including:1) Utilizing extensive knowledge of packing, warehouse, and material handling techniques; 2) Interpreting warehouse layout/plans, methods, procedures and packing instructions in order to perform a wide variety and range of warehouse functions; 3) Reading and understanding a wide variety of supply documentation and procedures in order to process material movement, storage, and retrieval requirements; 4) Stacking, moving, and arranging material on pallets taking consideration the height, weight, dimensional requirements of each item; 5) Examining items received, noting overages, shortages, or any damages in shipping, and preparing detailed reports of discrepancies.
