Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INDUSTRIAL SPECIALIST (PROJECT MANAGER) in the WATERFRONT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (CODE 300) of SOUTHEAST REG MAINTENANCE CTR SERMC.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience planning all phases of repair, alterations and modernization work assignments on assigned ships during availabilities
  • Experience drafting correspondence such as messages, letters and memoranda as appropriate to Fleet Commanders, Systems Commands, Type Commanders, and other agencies
  • Experience conducting quality audits of work specification packages to ensure authorized work is accomplished as agreed upon with customers
  • Experience demonstrating technical expertise in the areas of surface ship maintenance, evaluating the effectiveness of major overhaul and maintenance management approaches in terms of cost and mission accomplishment.
  • Experience requesting funds and distributing relevant availability information including contract work specifications, ship alteration and repair packages
  • Experience identifying and resolving problems that affect the end cost, quality, schedule, and performance of availabilities or contracts.
  • Experience interpreting general ship design plans such as layouts, compartments and access, general arrangements, schematics of piping.
