About the position: This position will be assigned to the Community Services Flight, to the Marina.This position includes the opportunity to enroll in Health and Life Insurance, 401K and Retirement, Annual and Sick Leave.
This is a full time position; guaranteed hours will be 35 per week.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have supervisory experience and a demonstrated ability to lead and manage subordinates. Must have knowledge & experience in carpentry, plumbing, & painting trades/occupations with an advanced working knowledge of vessel operations and maintenance. Must have demonstrated the ability to troubleshoot and determine the need for repair and servicing facilities, utilities, and equipment. Requires the ability to plan, schedule and direct the work operations of subordinates and a basic knowledge and skill in the use of tools of the trade. Must be able to lift, bend, and work in awkward positions both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds and heavier with assistance. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. Must successfully complete a preemployment physical. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1, National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
1. Skill and Knowledge: Must have responsible supervisory experience with the demonstrated ability to supervise subordinate workers performing maintenance work. Must have working knowledge of a variety of accepted trade practices in related marina maintenance and construction, to also include basic shop mathematics to plan, layout, measure, cut, construct, and install materials according to dimensional requirements and specifications where fit and accuracy are within specified tolerances. Must have knowledge of plumbing methods and techniques including knowledge of flow and drainage. Skill to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment. Ability to safely operate Marina motor vehicles and small powerboat. Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
2. Physical Effort: The work requires considerable bending, standing, kneeling, climbing, and stooping. On site work requires physical exertion when handling heavy and bulky materials. Work typically requires climbing ladders. Frequently carries and lifts materials and equipment weighing up 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lifts or moves heavier items with the assistance of lifting devices or other workers.
3. Working Conditions: The work is performed inside and outside areas that may be hot, damp and drafty. Usually dirty, dusty, and greasy, with gasoline and exhaust fumes usually present. Incumbent is exposed to moderate to high noise levels from operating machinery, sawdust in the air, glue, fumes, and hazards associated with woodworking and related power equipment. May be exposed to electrical shocks, chemical bums, toxic fumes and bums from electrical equipment. Government provided uniforms will be worn within guidelines set by the Marina Manager.
4. May be required to work overtime, holidays, or an uncommon tour of duty.
