This vacancy is for a GS - 0301 - 12, Command Duty Officer located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, SECTOR MIAMI COMMAND CENTER in MIAMI BEACH, Florida.Requirements:
To qualify at the GS- 12 grade level, your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of tasks on a regular and recurring basis.
- Serving as a direct representative of the Sector Commander and provides leadership and training to other military and civilian SCC watchstanders.
- Overseeing, leads and monitors the other SCC watch positions (Operations Unit). Coordinating the work of the SCC and oversees and monitors the Sector's response to SAR cases to minimize loss of life and property at sea;
- Providing command and control over all maritime law enforcement operations in which Coast Guard assets are involved within the Sector's AOR.
- Maintaining command and control of security zone enforcement patrols of critical infrastructure in support of Coast Guard PWCS missions, including those accomplished by other government agencies
NOTE: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.
