Employee will be assigned to Environmental Management Services, VA Healthcare System West Palm Beach, FL, serving as the Textile/Laundry Manager. The laundry provides support to the healthcare system with all associated community-based outpatient clinics. The textile care facility operates five (5) days a week, eight (8) hours per day with current annual production of over 1.8 million pounds annually.Requirements:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: performing a variety of administrative and oversight services concerning laundry and dry cleaning functions; identifying and recommending needed equipment repairs, upgrade, or purchases; ensuring laundry and/or dry-cleaning processes and services operate efficiently to include directing and evaluating work performed by laundry workers; forecasting expenditures and preparing budget estimates; and maintaining communication with various departments and external vendors regarding supply and distribution needs.OR
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE ( Transcript Required ) - Applicants must possess successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

COMBINING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE ( Transcript Required ) - Combination of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements.

Physical Requirements: Regular and recurring work involves considerable physical exertion of walking, driving, bending and lifting moderately heavy equipment or other items weighing under 50 pounds. May be required to walk or drive in inclement weather from building to building or from the Medical Center to various locations.
