Description:

You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGHTER (HAZMAT TECHNICIAN/BLS) in the Fire and Emergency Services Department of NAS KEY WEST.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Detecting fire hazards (potential and immediate) and determining corrective action; 2) Operating firefighting vehicles and equipment in accordance with principles of hydraulics and firefighting techniques; 3) Providing emergency assistance (first aid, HAZMAT, etc.) in accordance with safety standards and regulations; 4) Applying the theory of fire propagation and progression to reduce fire hazards and/or combat fires; 5) Leading a crew of firefighters (i.e. directing drills, assigning work, etc.). NOTE: Experience must be fully supported in your resume to be considered for this position.

This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Technician, Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator Aerial, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I, and Fire Instructor I, National Registry EMT. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT).
