The Chief, Veterans Transportation Service, is in the Office of the Associate Director for Operations and reports to senior members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) comprised of the senior executives. Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist supervises and manages the Veterans Transportation Service, including the Supervisory Mobility Manager and Beneficiary Travel Specialist. Monitors the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Veterans Transportation Service.Requirements:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/17/2025.Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11.

Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) - Transportation Specialist Series, 2101
- Education: Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
- Specialized Experience: Experience that demonstrated a knowledge of the transportation function(s) of the position to be filled.
Specialized Experience Requirement:
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-11 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Analyzes new technological trends and develops phased implementation plans after analyzing feasibility, costs, benefits, opportunities, and constraints. Develops, analyzes, evaluates, advises. improves the effectiveness of work methods and procedures, organizations, manpower utilization, distribution of work assignments, delegation of authority, management controls, information and documentation systems, and similar functions of management. Formulates, interprets, and implements Veterans Transportation Program policies and procedures. Develops and implements management procedures and policies. Advises and recommend courses of action. Prepare replies to inquiries from Members of Congress, other Government agencies, and VISN offices.

Physical Requirements: You may be exposed to stressful working situations that will require a mature attitude, professional approach, and effective communication skills to overcome. The work requires no special physical demands but may require standing (sometimes for long periods), walking, climbing stairs, and bending. Work may require moderate lifting. May occasionally require working in extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
