You will serve as a AIRCRAFT SURVIVAL FLIGHT EQUIPMENT REPAIRER in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST MAINTENANCE REPAIR OVERHAULPRODUCTION DEPTARTMENT PRODUCTION LINES DIVISION of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Performing daily parachute rigger support during pre-flight and post-flight phases of all FRCSE flights. 2) Executing inspections, repairing, testing, maintaining, and tracking all survival equipment to include flight gear and protective clothing (i.e. aircrew harnesses, lap belts, shoulder harnesses, anti-gravity suits, flight suits, flight gloves, boots, helmets, and flight jackets).3) Removing and reinstalling the following from any military aircraft: parachutes, anti-exposure suits, water survival vests, walk around bottles with high pressure regulators, first aid-kits, fire extinguishers, oxygen masks, water breakers, fire axes, and large life rafts. 4) Fit testing and maintaining oxygen masks, survival vests, flight helmets, survival items, anti-exposure suits, anti G suits and survival radios. 5) Using various types of test equipment such as oxygen, leakage, radio, and other types of testers to conduct reliability testing on aircrew flight equipment, survival, and chemical/biological defense equipment.
