Description:
This position is located in Acadia National Park in the Maintenance Division, Schoodic District.A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.
Requirements:
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:- Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT)
- Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic)
- Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.
- Interpret instructions, specifications, etc. (including blueprints)
- Use of measuring instruments
- Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment
- Knowledge of Materials
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (SCREEN OUT): assist in maintaining and operating a wastewater treatment plant with pretreatment, primary, secondary and tertiary processes to achieve a maximum efficiency of treatment; collect samples of influent to determine treatment required/achieved; assist in testing potable water systems and operation and maintenance of a variety of automatic or manually controlled water pumps, valves, hypo chlorinators, filtering systems, and meters; assist in maintaining all testing records, reports, permits, certificates, etc.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
