Description:
Serves as a Supervisory Environmental Care Specialist subject matter expert for Environmental Management Services (EMS) at the James A. Haley VA Hospital. A key official and advisor to the Service Chief. Responsible for daily operations to include facility cleaning activities, bed management, infection control, pest, linen & laundry management and employee training within the service. Provides instruction and training in the performance of assigned new, unfamiliar and relatively complex duties.Requirements:
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 07/25/2025.Time-In-Grade Requirement : Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
- For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09.

Minimum Qualification Requirement: Your resume must support your response.
- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-09 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Advisor and consultant to Chief of service. Assisting managers and supervisors on processes and procedures. Developing service standard operating procedures (SOP's) and policies, defining administrative requirements and providing advise to leadership levels on related issues. Managing budget for all purchases and contracts. Monitoring service managers/supervisors training programs related to staff meetings and mandatory training requirements are met. Develops long and short range goals related to space utilization, budget processes and planning activities. Developing staff training schedules, performance appraisals/awards, mentoring and counseling, approving reassignments, recommending promotions. Ensure adequate stockage and timely delivery of laundry and linen to all areas of hospital and associated CBOC's. OR,
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
- Combination of Experience & Education: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education.
