This position is a Park Ranger, GS- 0025-7 working in Crystal River, Florida working for the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge.Note: This is not a Law Enforcement position.

A selectee receiving a temporary appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected and are not entitled to within grade increases. The display of a salary range on this vacancy shall not be construed as granting an entitlement to a higher rate of pay.Only experience and education obtained by 06/09/2025 will be considered.
In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification.
Minimum Qualification [GS-07]
- One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-05 in the Federal service. Experience includes: developing and presenting interpretive programs; preparing and conducting environmental education/interpretive programs; assisting with the training of volunteers in a natural resources setting; assisting with the management of recreation opportunities such as hunting, camping, fishing, and hiking; and assisting with the development of interpretive materials, such as brochures, guidebooks, handouts, and exhibits. This experience is described in my resume/application. OR
- Completed 1 full academic year of graduate level education related to the duties of this position. Examples of this type of study include natural resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history, archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences, business administration, public administration, behavioral sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent to the management and protection of natural and cultural resources. OR
- A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement. OR
- Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.). S.A.A. is based on (1) Class Standing, (2) Grade-Point Average, or (3) Honor Society Membership. (1) Class Standing: Upper one-third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision based on completed courses. (2) Grade-Point Average: A grade point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 (B or better) as recorded on the official transcript or as computed based on four years of education, or computed based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum; -or- (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 0 (B+ or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final two years of the curriculum. (3) Election to Membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society: Applicants may be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. Freshman scholastic honor societies cannot be used to meet the requirements of this position. NOTE: Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. To qualify under this option you must submit transcripts (official or unofficial) to verify your education.
