You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHEAST of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: specialized experience.- Apply appropriate DOD regulations regarding the type of Personnel Security Investigation required.
- Authorize Physical Security to issue the Common Access Card (CAC) upon results of Advance Fingerprint check and vetting through the Contractor Verification System (CVS), and all associated documents for submission by assigned personnel as appropriate.
- Evaluate all available information and make a personnel security determination as to whether interim or final security clearance access shall be granted, prepare necessary reports, investigative packets and maintain personnel security clearance records.
- Work closely with the Command Security Manager and the Human Resource Office as well as upper management.
- Provide technical advice to FRCSE project managers, acquisitions personnel in regard to DOD and DON Personnel Security regulations.
- Maintain the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)/DISS security clearance tracking system and provide policy and guidance at lower echelon commands on established rules and national security policy.
- Assist the Security Manager within the inventory of classified material and all GSA safes/ containers for the command.
- Processes Foreign Visit Requests through the Foreign Visit Request (FVR) System and interacts with the Navy International Program Office.
