About the Position: This is a Term position located at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL. The work involves regular and recurrent exposure to hazards, unpleasantness, and discomforts. Protective equipment and clothing may be needed, including hard hat, metatarsal shoes, earmuffs/plugs, goggles, respirators or gloves. Alternate work schedule (Compressed) authorized.This is a Direct Hire Solicitation DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB).

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level or equivalent which includes inspecting or surveying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards; developing/implementing safety programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses.
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in safety or occupational health fields (safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene), or master's or equivalent graduate degree in other related fields that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours of study from among the following (or closely related) disciplines: safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, occupational medicine, toxicology, public health, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biological sciences, engineering, and industrial psychology.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
