This vacancy is for a GS - 0963 - 6/7, Legal Instruments Examiner located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, REGIONAL EXAM CENTER-MIAMI. Duty location is located in Miami, FL.Requirements:
To qualify at the GS- 06 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized experience must include the following:
- Reviewing legal instruments, applications, respond to inquiries both oral and written received from the public and/or governmental agencies, drafting routine correspondence for signature
- Knowledge and use of date entry systems and applying Federal laws and regulations.
To qualify at the GS- 07 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Specialized experience must include the following:
- Reviewing merchant mariner applications, responding to inquiries both oral and written received from the public and/or governmental agencies, and drafting routine correspondence for signature, draft merchant mariner credentials, administer merchant mariner exams.
- Knowledge and use of MMLD, applying Federal laws and regulations related to merchant mariner credentialing.
