Description:

This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1994000 and is part of the FL 53rd IBCT, National Guard.

Requirements:

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency with dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard.

PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard.

FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Warrant Officers/Enlisted: E4 thru CW2

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training which has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, components and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications and skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: WG-10 must have at least 18 months experience or training installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics, and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow. Must have the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics, military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines, transmissions, gearboxes, hydraulic components, and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
