Description:

The primary purpose of a Teller is to control and account for all funds received and deposited daily as part of commissary store operations in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) facility.

The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) defines the qualifications for this position under the Group Coverage Qualification Standards for Clerical and Administrative Positions. To qualify, your application package must show that you possess one of the following:

(1) One (1) year of general experience, which is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position, such as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. ,

OR

(2) Two (2) full years of education above high school at an accredited business, secretarial, technical school, junior college, college or university, OR

(3) A combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. The sum of the two percentages must equal 100%.

Examples of qualifying experience include:
General experience is progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical requirements: (1) The work is primarily sedentary but does include some standing, walking, and occasional bending. May be required to lift and/or carry money boxes or bags. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
